The Wicomico County Public School System is committed to providing an environment in which technology is used to enhance and support instruction; strengthen communication; and improve efficiency of operations while providing opportunities for all students to utilize the skills and knowledge necessary for success in the 21st century.

Cyber Month LogoOctober is National Cyber Security Awareness Month.  Wicomico County Public Schools takes security and privacy very seriously. We incorporate the latest technology to protect staff and student data, following the guidelines of FERPA, HIPAA, audit, and other industry best practices. We review data security procedures regularly. For our students, we conduct Cyber Safety Awareness sessions, particularly for 4th graders. That is the prime age for students to "venture" onto the internet and use tools like texting. We are partnering with a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Safe and Secure Online Volunteer, Hillary Wright on this awareness training. Hillary has also provided informational material for us to share with all families and staff, which we are publishing on this site throughout October. So check back to this site often for more information and tips to be "Cyber Safety Aware".   Hillary Wright can be reached at: <>
