This call/email was made this morning to families whose students attend the Wicomico Early Learning Center:

Good morning, this is the Communications Office of Wicomico County Public Schools with a very important school status message for our WELC families.

Due to a city sewer backup issue at the Wicomico Early Learning Center, our WELC students and staff have been relocated to East Salisbury Elementary this morning. Maintenance and Operations staff are working with the City of Salisbury to resolve the problem, and we anticipate that students and staff may be able to return to WELC later today. However, we are prepared for WELC students to spend today at East Salisbury if necessary.

Given the disruption in schedule, if you would like to pick up your student, please come to the East Salisbury Elementary main office with a photo ID and sign out your student. If we have been able to return to WELC before you arrive, please come to WELC to sign out your student. The student’s absence or early dismissal will be excused. Students who remain with us for the day will be transported this afternoon as usual.

If you have any questions, please contact us by calling East Salisbury at 410-677-5803. Thank you.
