Many 2016 Wicomico graduates may be able to earn an associate's degree from Wor-Wic Community College at no cost, thanks to the new Wicomico Economic Impact Scholarship opportunity offered by Wicomico County and Wor-Wic. To help students and parents ensure they complete the required paperwork on time, Wor-Wic Community College's Student Services area will have extended hours July 21 and July 27, staying open until 7 p.m. to give individualized attention.

To qualify for free tuition and fees, you must have been a Wicomico County resident for two years, have completed all your high school graduation requirements, and have an annual family income of $75,000 or less. The student must register for 12 credits per semester and maintain a 2.0 GPA each semester at Wor-Wic.

The Wicomico County Council recently approved the Wicomico Economic Impact Scholarship allowing 2016 high school graduates to attend Wor-Wic Community College for free. The Wicomico Economic Impact Scholarship is an excellent way to earn an associate’s degree at no cost and with no student loan debt.

In order to receive the scholarship, you must register for 12 credits per semester and maintain a 2.0 GPA. 

You must act now to take advantage of this scholarship. To be eligible, you must complete these application requirements by July 29:

  • Complete a Wor-Wic Community College Application
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); and
  • Complete application information for the Wicomico Economic Impact Scholarship

In addition, you would need to attend an orientation and registration session that will be held in August.  The Wor-Wic Community College Application and FAFSA can be completed online at www.worwic.edu
